Green Kirinyaga: A Powerful Partnership for Climate Action
The Chambers of Business Sector Kenya, under the dynamic leadership of Colleen C. Rotich, COO and Chairperson of Women in Business, proudly joined forces with Dr. H. Kariuki, CEO of Comfort Homes, and the dedicated community movement Together As One in a landmark environmental initiative—distributing 20,000 avocado seedlings across Kirinyaga County in 2025.
This impactful campaign reached communities across Ndia Constituency, with seedling distributions and awareness drives in Kibirigwi, Kibingoti, Kiangwachi, Kiburu, Kiania, Nguguini, Kiangai, and many other towns. The initiative is a shining example of how meaningful partnerships between business leaders and grassroots movements can drive environmental sustainability and community empowerment.
Avocado trees play a dual role—helping to combat climate change by reducing carbon emissions and providing long-term economic benefits through agribusiness. This project empowers households while contributing to a greener Kenya.
Colleen C. Rotich, a trailblazer in women-led development, continues to champion inclusive green growth, calling on business leaders, youth, and women across Kenya to step up and replicate such impactful models.
Comfort Homes, Together As One, and the Chambers of Business Sector Kenya remain committed to ensuring environmental stewardship is at the heart of national transformation.
Let’s grow trees, grow hope, and grow Kenya—together.
