CBSK’S NETHERLANDS TRADE MISSION UPDATE
The delegates from Cohort 1 to the Netherlands gained valuable insights into the country’s agribusiness, a crucial sector of its economy. Although the Netherlands is relatively small, it ranks as the second-largest exporter of agricultural products globally, just behind the United States.
Participants toured Dutch greenhouse complexes, where they observed innovative horticultural practices up close. They also visited dairy farms, a key industry in the Netherlands, known for producing significant quantities of milk, cheese, and other dairy products. These visits showcased the use of cutting-edge agricultural technology, sustainable practices, and effecient logistics.
Overall, the trade mission to the Netherlands was an effective way to not only witness the country’s agricultural innovations but also to explore ways of integrating these practices into Kenya, through technology transfer, partnerships, and investments.
